Financial Literacy

The Police Athletic League of North Miami (PALNM) is proud to announce its new financial Literacy program, sponsored by the Tua Foundation. The Financial Literacy Program will be held at the PALNM facility every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. In our best efforts to maintain social distance, the program is only available to students who are currently enrolled into our Virtual Learning Hub.

What is Financial Literacy and why is it important?

  • Financial literacy is the education and understanding of various financial areas including topics related to managing personal finance, money, borrowing, and investing. 
  • learning about finance, credit, and debt management knowledge is important because it is necessary in order to make financially responsible decisions—decisions that are integral to our everyday lives. Financial Literacy has an impact on families as they try to balance their budget, buy a home, taking out a loan, and ensuring an income at retirement. 

What is Financial Literacy and why is it important?

From this programwe hope to educate our participants about Financial Literacy which includes: 

  •  Aunderstanding of how a checking account works. 
  • What a credit card is and how to avoid debt 
  • How to balance a budget, etc.
